1 | jar | (32 oz.) sauerkraut, undrained | |

1 1/2 | teaspoon | sugar | |

|||
1 | can | (12 oz.) dark beer or ale | |
|
|||
3 1/2 | lbs. | pork shoulder | |
|
|||
1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
|
|||
1/4 | teaspoon | garlic powder | |
|
|||
1/4 | teaspoon | pepper | |
|
|||

|
Pour sauerkraut into slow cooker. Sprinkle sugar evenly over sauerkraut, and pour beer over all. Place pork, fat side up, on top of sauerkraut mixture; sprinkle evenly with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours. Place pork on serving platter and, using slotted spoon, remove sauerkraut and arrange around pork.
